Fall Protection

Fall protection is important in fire supplies, especially for firefighters who often work at heights during rescue operations, building inspections, and firefighting activities. Fall protection equipment is designed to prevent or arrest falls from elevated positions, minimizing the risk of serious injuries or fatalities.

Firefighters may use a variety of fall protection equipment, including harnesses, lanyards, anchor points, and self-retracting lifelines (SRLs). Harnesses are worn by firefighters and feature attachment points for connecting to lanyards or SRLs. Lanyards are flexible lines that attach the harness to a secure anchor point, while SRLs automatically retract and maintain tension to minimize slack and reduce the risk of a fall.

Anchor points are fixed or temporary structures that provide a secure attachment for fall protection equipment. They must be capable of supporting the anticipated loads and be positioned to minimize the potential for swing falls or contact with hazards.
